We are excited to launch our search for a community independent candidate for the federal electorate of Moore with a Candidate Search Party next Saturday 17 August 2024.

Over the past four months we have run a community listening process, gathering over 280 responses through online community surveys and Kitchen Table Conversations about what matters most to residents of Moore and what they expect from their political representative.

The voters of Moore are ready for change. Widespread disillusionment with the two major political parties was a recurring theme in responses. Nearly 65% of respondents expressed that they did not feel well represented. When asked about the qualities they were looking for in their political representative, people valued integrity, transparency, honesty, listening, representation of the community and the capacity to listen and communicate.

The highest priorities were cost of living, corruption and integrity in politics, housing and rental affordability and climate change and the environment.

There was an appetite among those who attended Kitchen Table Conversations to see politics done differently and for the option of choosing a community independent candidate as an alternative to the established parties in the next election. Based on this input, we are starting a search for a community-backed independent candidate.

Members of the Moore community are invited to the Hillarys Yacht Club on Saturday 17 August 2024 to launch the candidate search. This will be an opportunity to hear the results of the community listening process firsthand and contribute to the search for a community independent candidate for Moore.
